Bad up your betterness

So I start exams next week, sorta important and the summary of 13 years of schooling...whaaevaaaa, but this means for the next few weeks, my weekends are shut down. So i shall live precariously through party photography websites to keep me sane!

  1. Hey I noticed on the LookBook forum you were asking for some tips on going around sg. But it was two months old. I'm from there. I guess I could give you directions and tips.

Orchard Road is the main area to shop for things. There's takashimaya and Ion for high-end brands. Heeren and far-east plaza for other shops. They are located on one road (Orchard road duh) so you would have no problem finding all the malls located in one area. Take the MRT, which makes travelling a piece of cake really and orchard will be on the red line. I suggest you start with Orchard and walk down to somerset, then take the MRT down to city hall, where you can chill for the rest of the night either in Timbre (a live music bar), supperclub (highly recommend that you visit this place its at odeon towers) or you could go above to Loof (a rooftop bar). Both Loof and supperclub are on Odeon Towers.

On a separate day, you could go down to esplanade, the arts hub of SG, where you can find food easily as well. Just ask for directions if you don't know. Some people are friendly, some will not know. Do not be offended because there is a culture barrier in that we are not used to speaking so openly and in a friendly way to strangers. Then, at night cross the bridge, you will be able to see it if you can see the marina bay. cross the bridge to fullerton to make your way down to a club known as the butter factory. It is at one fullerton, situated in front of fullerton hotel and this area provides really nice sceneries for you to take pictures at night.

The main clubbing area in Singapore is Clarke Quay. Don't be confused as there are 3 Quays -Robertson, Boat, and Clarke. And they are all along the same river and are within walking distance. You can find it on the purple line of the MRT.

If you're a beach lover, head down to sentosa. and for food, head down to what we call hawker centres. It is safe to eat, unlike a lot of misconceptions. Cus the food is the real taste. And be sure to at least have tried the local hainanese chicken rice, nasi lemak and roti prata. I'm living in australia now and im dying to go back for more this december as well.

Also, if you want to find more indie and underground stuff. You have to go to Haji Lane. Recently, though a lot of blogshops opened up there and i wouldnt call them indie so you need to be able to discern the indie shops from the blogshops. Its a small alley and the stop to go to in terms of MRT would be Bugis. and you have to ask around. Its an arab place so go there and shisha (herb+tobacco smoking) as well.

If theres anything else you could pm me at my lookbook account Dicky The. Hope you have fun!
